Brett Rushton
CCIE, CPA

Brett Rushton is the Vice President of the Network Strategy and Infrastructure (NSI) practice for Calence. He joined Calence in 1996 and has more than 17 years of combined information technology and networking experience. In his current role, he is responsible for overall service line strategy, marketing, sales enablement and service delivery capability development required for Calence to deliver Network Strategy and Infrastructure solutions to the marketplace. He has broad experience in a variety of networking disciplines including network architecture, network security, service management and infrastructure operations. Prior to assuming the lead role in the NSI practice, Rushton built and led a strategy consulting practice for Calence that provided advisory services for several industries including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Health Care and Government. Previous responsibilities in Calence included driving the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Calence Management Services business unit and various engagement and management roles in Calence’s Network Consulting practice. Prior to joining Calence, Rushton worked for Arthur Andersen, where he worked in a number of practice lines including Auditing, Business Systems Consulting and Litigation Systems Consulting. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Computer Information Systems, Arizona State University; a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (#3354); and a Certified Public Account.
Douglas Fink
CCNP, CCNA, CVOICE
Doug Fink is the Vice President of the Unified Communications practice for Calence. Fink began his career at Calence in May of 1997 and was responsible for leading large networking project teams and acting as the client interface for several Fortune 500 customers. In his current role, he is responsible for overall strategy for all voice, video and Web solutions. He has more than 12 years of experience in the network computing industry. During this time, he has had the opportunity to hone his skills at all levels of an organization, from support and troubleshooting, to architecture and technical design. Prior to this role, Fink was Director of Consulting where he provided quality assurance reviews, developed technical strategies, and led resource assignments and business development efforts for Calence’s commercial customers. Then, he managed Calence’s national IP Telephony practice, positioning Calence as one of Cisco Systems “go-to” IP telephony partners, overseeing scores of IP telephony implementations. Fink also led the launch of Calence’s IP Contact Center offering. Prior to joining Calence, Fink was a consultant for Andersen Consulting (Accenture), designing and managing large LAN/WAN infrastructure engagements. He earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration (B.S.B.A.), Northern Arizona University and is Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Cisco Voice Over Frame Relay, ATM and IP (CVOICE); Cisco ICM Product Training and Advanced Scripting; and Cisco IPCC Boot Camp.
Mike Beeman
Mike Beeman is the Director of the National Education Practice for Calence, LLC. He became part of Calence in 2006 via the joining with Avnet Enterprise Solutions and has more than 39 years of combined education, information technology, sales and networking experience. In his current role, he is responsible for national growth and expansion within the Education Practice, and specifically for the strategy, marketing, and integrity compliance of the Calence participation in the Federal E-Rate education program. Beeman has been involved with this federal program since its inception, and is regarded as a subject matter expert in this program. He is also responsible for adapting and integrating the current NSI, UC, Security, and CMS offerings into the education vertical, as well as developing and marketing solutions for the K-16 marketplace. His career started in 1966 with the Federal Government as a programmer at White Sands Missile Range, and then joined Lockheed Electronics at the NASA (Johnson) Space Center working on the Apollo space program. From here, he moved into IT management positions in the manufacturing industry with Blue Bell, Inc., Olin Corp., and GTE Lenkurt. During the early part of his career, Beeman taught college-level information technology/programming in the evenings, complementing a life-long interest in the education field. This interest led to a position as Executive Director of a Business College and Technical Institute. He owned a national custom software business for 7 years, then worked as an IT Director for two large school districts in Texas. He joined SabreData in 1997, which was the initial company in the Kent-Avnet-Calence progression.
